Article 5 No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

This right is important because it guarantees that no person can receive inhuman treatment in their country or in any other territory. Therefore, thanks to this, people who commit infractions or are under arrest in a country cannot be subjected to torture.

Article 7 All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. All are entitled to equal protection against any discrimination in violation of this Declaration and against any incitement to such discrimination.

This article ensures that if we are all equal before the law, you should receive equal treatment regardless of differences between each person, such as religion, gender, age, race, nationality, and others. In addition, it is ensured that the law in any country protects all its citizens equally, avoiding discrimination. It also prevents some people in different conditions from a society from being treated differently by law.
